Located in the Kunene Region of northwestern Namibia, Twyfelfontein is a stunningly scenic area that hosts one of Africa’s largest and most significant collections of rock art. ‘Twyfelfontein’ means ‘Fountain of Doubt,’ referring to the perennial spring found in the remarkable Huab Valley, nestled between the slopes of a sandstone table mountain. This spring drew Stone Age hunters over six thousand years ago, during which time the vast array of rock engravings and paintings were created. Visitors can enjoy staying at the beautifully shaded campsites along the Aba-Huab riverbed while exploring more than thirty sacred ritual sites of the traditional hunter-gatherer communities.
