Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will receive a warm welcome and be transferred to your hotel in the Nairobi area for your overnight stay before embarking on your safari adventures. Take advantage of this time to relax, rejuvenate, and adjust after your flight. We can arrange visits to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and the Giraffe Centre for those seeking adventure. Nairobi boasts a vibrant nightlife and many excellent international and Kenyan-style restaurants.
Nairobi is served by two airports, with Wilson Airport being the primary hub for most of your internal light aircraft flights. These airports are approximately 20 km (12 miles) apart, and transfer times can vary from 20 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic conditions.
Following a peaceful night’s rest and a delectable breakfast, your guide will embark on a scenic drive lasting approximately five hours, weaving through flower farms and lively market towns. Upon arrival at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in central Laikipia, a delightful lunch will be served, with the majestic snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya providing a stunning backdrop to this wildlife haven.
At Ol Pejeta Bush Camp, guests can partake in exhilarating game drives to spot lions, buffalo, elephants, white rhinos, and black rhinos. Night drives offer a unique perspective and heightened excitement to your safari experience. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the enclosure housing endangered species, including the world’s last two remaining Northern White rhinos. After enjoying a delightful breakfast, you’ll be transported to the local airstrip for a flight to Rekero Camp in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival, a driver will transfer you to Rekero Camp, which sits elegantly above the Talek River, providing breathtaking views of a prime Great Migration crossing point. The boutique camp is strategically positioned to offer excellent wildlife sightings throughout the year in the Masai Mara. It features nine classic and spacious safari tents, each with a private veranda overlooking the river and equipped with an en suite bathroom, flushing toilet, and hot-water shower.
During the day, relax on your private veranda’s daybed while observing zebras stroll along the riverbank. Enjoy twice-daily game drives, with an in-camp or bush picnic breakfast option. For a unique experience, consider an early morning hot-air balloon ride at an extra cost, providing a mesmerizing view of the wildlife from above.
After a satisfying lunch, take a siesta, indulge in reading, or simply unwind while soaking in the scenic views from your tent or the camp’s decks. Rejuvenate with afternoon tea and cake before embarking on an exciting evening expedition, complete with onboard sundowners of your choice.
