Shipwreck-shaped cabins between the dunes — Skeleton Coast Central Concession
Shipwreck Lodge is set on the southern bank of the Hoarusib River Mouth, in the famed Skeleton Coast Central Concession between the Hoarusib and Hoanib Rivers — only 45 km north of Möwe Bay, deep inside the Skeleton Coast National Park.
Ten timber cabins are shaped like shipwrecks, nestled into the dunes with Atlantic views as the cold Benguela current pushes a refreshing breeze ashore. A 146,600-hectare private concession surrounds you — one of the wildest places on the continent.
Activities range from desert-adapted wildlife tracking and shipwreck visits to roaring dune drives and quad biking. Evenings are spent around the fireplace as the ocean fog rolls in — a place utterly unlike anywhere else on earth.
