itinerary
Upon your arrival at the airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed and assisted with your flight from the city airport to the designated airstrip.
Our knowledgeable guide will be waiting to greet you upon landing, providing a brief orientation before embarking on an exciting game drive back to camp. Whether situated along the banks of the Mara River in the Serengeti or the shores of Lake Nzerakera in Nyerere, you’ll have the chance to familiarize yourself with the surroundings. Lunch will be served upon reaching camp, allowing you time to unwind and settle in. In the afternoon, venture into the wilderness with your guide to discover the captivating wildlife. Return to camp for a refreshing break as the sun sets before enjoying a delightful dinner under the stars, followed by convivial moments around the campfire.
Your daily schedule can be tailored to your preferences. You may choose an early departure with a picnic breakfast for a morning game activity, return for lunch, engage in another activity or relax by the pool with a good book in the afternoon. Alternatively, you can have breakfast at camp, embark on a game drive with a picnic lunch, and return in the mid-afternoon. Private vehicle hire is available for added flexibility but requires booking.
While all camps offer game drives, Sayari and Roho ya Selous also offer walking safaris, and Nyerere stands out as the sole destination in East Africa offering boating safaris—an excellent opportunity for unique water sightings or trying your hand at catch-and-release fishing.
After three days of bush adventures, you’ll fly to the coast to unwind on the tropical islands of Zanzibar or Fanjove for the remainder of your honeymoon.
If you’re arriving from the Serengeti, you’ll be picked up at Zanzibar airport and transported to either Breezes Beach Club & Spa or Xanadu Villas. For those coming from Nyerere, a flight to Songo Songo Island will precede a scenic 45-minute boat ride to the exclusive Fanjove Island.
Upon reaching the secluded Fanjove Private Island, settle into your A-framed wooden banda with its open front, offering breathtaking ocean views. The entire property is designed with environmental sustainability in mind, utilizing solar power for all rooms and employing traditional, eco-friendly materials like sustainable wood, makuti (palm leaves), and thatch.
Over the next few days, indulge in your Robinson Crusoe fantasies on Fanjove. The island has thousands of seabirds, nesting turtles, and coconut crabs! Explore the surroundings with a sandbank picnic, kayak along the coastline, try fishing, or delve into the vibrant marine life through snorkeling or scuba diving along the pristine 11 km coral reef.
Life at Breezes Beach Club & Spa can be as relaxed or active as you desire. Dive into the underwater world at the dive center, immerse yourself in local culture with a Swahili cooking class or palm weaving session on the beach, or engage in various water sports activities.
At Xanadu Villas, revel in a serene, luxurious escape where privacy and tranquillity are prioritized, and your private butler attends to your every need. Unwind in your private plunge pool amidst lush tropical gardens, or embark on thrilling adventures such as kayaking, snorkeling, and stand-up paddleboarding.
After your time at Fanjove Private Island, embark on a 45-minute boat journey to Songo Songo Island before catching your flight back to Dar es Salaam, where you’ll check in for your international flight home.
If you stay at Breezes Beach Club & Spa, you’ll be chauffeured to Zanzibar Airport, approximately a 90-minute drive, to check in for your international flight home.
Guests at Xanadu Villas will be driven to Zanzibar Airport and then to Kilimanjaro International Airport for their homeward flight.
