Where to stay in Swakopmund

Swakopmund was founded in 1892 as the German colony's harbour, because Walvis Bay was British. It lies 352 km from Windhoek on the B2, and Walvis Bay is about 35 km down the coast.

The cold Benguela Current brings fog, which forms mostly at night and clears during the day. The coast's daily temperature range stays under 10 °C, and Walvis Bay is a Ramsar wetland of international importance.
