Waterberry Zambezi Lodge
Waterberry Zambezi Lodge is a riverside hideaway on the bank of the Zambezi near Livingstone, close enough to Victoria Falls to visit easily but away from the bustle of town. Its cottages are set around lawns that run down to the river.
There are three ways to stay. Seven thatched lodge cottages, each named after a bird, are open to the high thatch and have their own terrace. The Woodlands has three forest tents in the shady woods of a conservation area, and the River Farmhouse is a private house on the river with its own infinity pool.
Waterberry is independently owned and run by a team from Zambia, Germany and Britain, and works with the community, supporting schools, a farming cooperative and an adult skills centre. Days here mean sunset cruises, birding, the Falls and visits to the community.

Seven bright thatched cottages, each named after a bird and different from the next, open to the high thatch, with a private terrace, air-conditioning and an en-suite shower.
Three tents of about 40 square metres in the shady woods of a conservation area, a fine choice for birders.
A private safari house on the river with five bedrooms, sleeping up to ten, and its own infinity pool looking over the Zambezi. Good for families and groups travelling together.
