Karen Blixen Camp
Karen Blixen Camp is a permanent luxury tented camp in the Mara North Conservancy, in the Masai Mara of Kenya. Every one of its 22 tents stands on the bank of the Mara River.
The furniture recalls the 1920s, and the tents are raised on wooden platforms with a veranda and a cushioned daybed. Inside are a large bed, rugs and an armchair, and the bathroom has twin basins and an outdoor shower. For families, two tents share one veranda.
The camp has a bar, a restaurant, a pool and a spa. Water is heated by the sun and the camp runs on solar power. Days are spent on game drives, birding, walks and visits to learn about Maasai culture.
