Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge
Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge sits in a vlei among the dunes on the western edge of the Kalahari, where the wide Karoo meets the first red dunes. It is off the B1, about 8 km south of Kalkrand.
It is a small lodge of 13 suites built of canvas, natural stone, thatch and big windows. A wooden walkway leads from reception to the main building, with a restaurant and fireplace, a bar, a lounge, and the Kalahari Lounge with its whisky collection and billiard table. In the middle of the vlei is a pool with shade and loungers.
The Kalahari is right on the doorstep: marked hiking trails, cycling, and nature drives in the morning or afternoon. For a deeper experience there is the Trans Kalahari Walk, a guided hike with two nights out in the dunes.

The Rooms
Eleven suites, each built differently in canvas, stone and thatch, with a large bedroom, a living room, a spacious bathroom, an outdoor shower and a terrace with chairs and loungers. Air-conditioning, a mini-bar, an espresso machine and Wi-Fi are in every suite.
Two larger suites with a big bedroom, a lounge area, a generous shower, a private terrace and a pool of their own.
