Bagatelle Boutique Farmhouse
Bagatelle Boutique Farmhouse is set on the Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch near Mariental, surrounded by red Kalahari dunes. It lies about five minutes along a sand road from the entrance gate, and the reserve where the game drives take place is just across the way.
The farmhouse has its own reception, bar, kitchen and dining room, so guests stay here for meals rather than at the main ranch. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, the dining room is spacious, and an infinity pool and terrace look out over the dunes.
There are eight rooms in the farmhouse and three more in the Villa next door, which has its own pool and deck. Activities leave from the game ranch about 3 km away: nature drives with a sundowner on the dunes, the ranch's orphaned cheetahs, horse rides and walks with the San.

Four rooms with their own door onto the veranda, stylish decor, air-conditioning, a ceiling fan and an en-suite shower. They look out over the salt pan and the bushveld.
Four twin or double rooms with the same stylish decor and comforts as the luxury rooms, each with its own entrance from the veranda and an en-suite shower. Only the view differs.
Three rooms in a villa beside the farmhouse, each with its own entrance, air-conditioning and en-suite bathroom. Two of the doubles take two extra single beds, and the villa has its own pool and deck. It need not be booked for sole use.

Things to do
Nature drive and sundowner
A drive through the reserve for giraffe, kudu, zebra, oryx, blue wildebeest and eland, among some of the highest dunes in the area, ending with drinks and a snack on a dune at sunset.
Cheetah excursion
A close visit to the three orphaned cheetahs the ranch cares for, with the Cheetah Conservation Fund, in a 12-hectare enclosure, followed by a sundowner on a dune.
Morning Bushman walk
A walk with a San family who share how they stored water in ostrich eggs, used plants as medicine, set traps and made jewellery. A guide translates.
Horseback safari
Rides through the dunes with a guide on well-trained quarter horses, with horses for children and beginners as well as experienced riders.
Game drive, cheetah and sundowner
All three in one outing: a drive in the reserve, time with the cheetahs, and sunset on a dune.
