Namib Outpost
Namib Outpost is in the Namib Tsaris Nature Reserve, a private reserve set aside to protect this fragile desert. It lies well off the main roads, with views into the Namib-Naukluft National Park and the Namib Sand Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
There are twelve suites, each with a shaded private deck and a view: ten suites, one Family Suite and a Superior Suite with its own pool. The welcome is relaxed and natural, and on the open plains around the lodge you can sometimes see wildlife grazing.
Days are spent on guided trips to Sossusvlei, on sundowner drives, horse rides and hikes, and there is a pool, a bar and a massage lounge for the time in between.

Ten suites, each with a private shaded deck and a view. The suites with a thatched roof are air-conditioned.
One larger suite with a private pool, plenty of space and a modern, refined interior, made for the quiet and space of the Namib.

Things to do
Sossusvlei excursion
A guided drive to the Sossusvlei dunes in a 4x4 safari vehicle, early in the morning for photographs or in the afternoon when fewer people are there. A picnic in the dunes, water and park fees are included. Small groups, at most nine to a vehicle.
Sundowner drive
A relaxed late-afternoon drive to a viewpoint, with drinks and snacks as the sun goes down.
Horse riding
Rides out on horseback across the open desert plains.
Hikes and walks
Walks in the reserve, with a guide or on your own.
Massage lounge
A choice of relaxing massages in the lodge's massage lounge.
The Sossusvlei excursion needs at least two guests, or a single supplement applies. Ask us about prices when you book.

When to go
March to May are the top months, with milder days. June to September is dry and clear with cold nights. October to February is hot, so go to the dunes at sunrise. Tap or hover over a month for more.
