The Camp
Olakira Migration Camp
Olakira Migration Camp follows the Great Migration, moving twice a year to stay close to the herds. From June to October it is in the north of the Serengeti, near the Mara River, where thousands of wildebeest plunge into the water past crocodiles and hippos.
The camp is known for its stargazing tents, which give a 270-degree view from the bed. When the herds are on the move, the air fills with grunting, thudding hooves and dust, and at night the sky is wide open above you.
There are nine spacious tents, two of them family tents, all with en-suite bathrooms, plumbed showers and flushing toilets. Game drives go out twice a day, or for a full day with a picnic lunch.
