The Hideout
NamibRand Family Hideout
NamibRand Family Hideout is a self-catering stay in the NamibRand Nature Reserve, about two hours' drive south of Sesriem. You can take the whole farmhouse, or one of three private campsites out on the plains.
The farmhouse is fully equipped for up to ten people, with an indoor fireplace, and it is wheelchair-friendly. The campsites, Orion, Venus and Jupiter, each take up to eight people and have flush toilets, solar-heated hot showers and shade structures.
Days are for 4x4 dune drives, educational walks and dune-boarding, and a waterhole draws oryx, springbok, zebra and giraffe. NamibRand is an International Dark Sky Reserve, so the night sky is something to see.

Three private campsites, Orion, Venus and Jupiter, for up to eight people each, with flush toilets, solar-heated hot showers and shade structures. Jupiter adds a roofed wooden deck, a charging station and wheelchair access.

When to go
March to May are the top months, with milder days. June to September is dry and clear with cold nights. October to February is hot, so go to the dunes at sunrise. Tap or hover over a month for more.
