Onguma Bush Camp
Onguma Bush Camp is the family camp of the Onguma Nature Reserve, on the eastern edge of Etosha. The lounge and dining areas overlook a large waterhole, so the game comes to you, day and night.
There are 18 rooms in an old-world safari style: Deluxe rooms facing the waterhole or pool, loft rooms with extra beds for children, three thatched rondavels, family units and the Settler's Room. The camp is fenced and has a games room, a pool and free Wi-Fi throughout.
Children are made very welcome, with drives planned for them, and the Onguma reserve and Etosha are right on the doorstep for game drives, bush walks and nights in the water-level hide.

Twin-bedded rooms on the waterhole or pool side, with views over the bush, a large en-suite bathroom and a small patio.

Three round thatched rooms from the original lodge, with twin beds, an en-suite bathroom and a patio over the gardens.
Once the honeymoon suite, this room is larger than the others and has a small sitting area. Two inter-leading family units with their own bathrooms are also available.

Things to do
Etosha game drives
Drives into the eastern part of Etosha National Park with an Onguma ranger, around Fischer's Pan and the waterholes.
Sundowner and sunrise drives
Drives on the 35,480-hectare Onguma reserve, home to plains game, more than 300 bird species, lion, cheetah, leopard and black rhino.
Onkolo hide
A water-level hide on the reserve, loved by photographers for its low angles and light.
Dream Cruiser sleep-out
A night out on the reserve on a custom Land Cruiser with a bathroom below and a bedroom on top, with a picnic dinner under the stars.
Bush walks and massages
Early morning walks with an armed ranger, and massages with the resident therapist.

When to go
Dry months, roughly June to October, bring the animals to the waterholes. November to April is the green season: lush scenery, great birding and fewer visitors. Tap or hover over a month for more.
