Onguma Tented Camp
In the Herero language Onguma means "the place you don't want to leave". Onguma Tented Camp is a stylish camp of seven luxury tents on the Onguma Nature Reserve, on the eastern edge of Etosha.
The main building looks over a waterhole about 60 metres away, and the long afternoons are spent on the lounge sofas watching the animals come and go, or in the rim-flow pool. Dinners are elegant, and the fire is lit on cool evenings.
Each tent stands around the waterhole, with air-conditioning, indoor and outdoor showers, a bath and a wood-fired hot tub on the deck. Laundry and the mini-bar are included.

Etosha game drives
Drives into the eastern part of Etosha National Park with an Onguma ranger, around Fischer's Pan and the waterholes.
Sundowner and sunrise drives
Drives on the 35,480-hectare Onguma reserve, home to plains game, more than 300 bird species, lion, cheetah, leopard and black rhino.
Onkolo hide
A water-level hide on the reserve, loved by photographers for its low angles and light.
Dream Cruiser sleep-out
A night out on the reserve on a custom Land Cruiser with a bathroom below and a bedroom on top, with a picnic dinner under the stars.
Massages
Massages with the resident therapist, at the camp.

When to go
Dry months, roughly June to October, bring the animals to the waterholes. November to April is the green season: lush scenery, great birding and fewer visitors. Tap or hover over a month for more.
