Fish River Lodge
Fish River Lodge is the only lodge perched directly on the rim of the Fish River Canyon — guests get breathtaking views from sunrise to sunset, every day, from every chalet.
Experience first-hand the geological forces that unfolded 300 million years ago as the Fish River etched its way through hard quartzite to form a canyon 90 km long, 549 m deep and 28 km wide in places.
The 45,000-hectare Canyon Nature Park is a sanctuary for Karoo succulent flora and endemic wildlife. Hiking trails meander down into the canyon, and the 75 km of river frontage with permanent water holes draws Hartmann’s zebra, kudu, oryx, springbok and rich endemic birdlife.
